It was a lazy weekend, with a couple of minor frustrations.

Friday I ranted (briefly) about the j*ckh*l* neighbor who mowed our berry bush. Nothing yet on that front, but then Friday night our (relatively new) DVD player started wigging out and not giving us useful sound (just static crackle). Sigh. And our letter to the nominal owner of the neighboring property was returned undeliverable, so I have to figure out a new way of figuring out what they have in mind for our little plot of wild greenness. Sigh.

But other than these things, life proceeded in a quiet and lovely way this weekend. Friday we puttered and loitered and watched a video, and I did some garb research.

Saturday we awoke early (jet lag residue), and did paper-pushing and administrivia before heading out to see Charlie's Angels Full Throttle with the BlueDuke & family. It is possibly the perfect summer movie. It is full of hysterical one-liners and obscure references, much action and adventure and a lot of booty shots. It's not high art or anything, but it was definitely full of laughs and amusement. Keilyn-Bob says "check it out!"

Thereafter we dined in glorious low-carb splendour at Johnny Rockets (to an amazing soundtrack, including cute dancing waitrons), then made our way home via the grocery store and a classic car club meeting (that was an accident).

We lounged and tidied, then had a small impromptu cook-out with kebab goodness and burgers and such. Much mellowness ensued (despite bug bites).

Sunday was slack-day, involving much computer gaming, eating of leftovers, a modest amount of house-stuff and not much else. (For those of you who play Diablo II (with expansion), I made it from the Kurast Bazaar to the Glacial Trail, including killing both Mephisto and Diablo, between mid-morning yesterday and bedtime....)

But we needed that down time - last week was fairly hairy at work and we're still getting over the trip. Now it's time to knuckle under, work on some projects, get some stuff off my to-do lists, etc. Fourth of July should be good for that.
